Singer Alanis Morissette says in the latest issue of Runner's World she uses running and weed to help with her depression and to relax.
After suffering from depression her whole life, Morissette says turning to running made "being depressed" obsolete.
"Running has made being depressed impossible," the 35-year-old LA-based singer told RW. "If I'm going through something emotional and just go outside for a run, you can rest assured I'll come back with clarity."

While Morissette may have a long track record of athletic endeavors, she's not afraid to admit she has her treats, like "red wine" and "medical marijuana".
Morissette said just because she knows running is good for her doesn't mean it's always easy to get started.

"I tie my laces, put on a tight bra and get out there like a little robot," she said. "The first 10 minutes are excruciating, but soon I get into the flow."
One of the marathons Alanis ran was the New York City Marathon with Edward Norton and in October ran the Bizz Johnson Trail Marathon, representing the National Eating Disorders Association.
She confesses to the mag that while her diet remains at 90% vegan now, she has struggled with the issue of diet and eating in the past.
"I struggled with eating disorders, especially in my teens, but I've noticed when I treat my body like an instrument instead of an ornament, my relationship with food completely changes." See the full interview here!
