"Alan Wake" fans could be in for a pleasant 2013 if a Steam sale teaser Wednesday is to be believed.
The two-part franchise is on sale on Valve's digital distribution platform for $9.99 through Thursday. Eagle-eyed fans pointed out a short mention at the bottom of the description on the game's official Facebook page that more news is coming for Remedy Entertainment fans some time this year.
"The new year starts with good news: 'Alan Wake' Franchise is -75 percent on Steam," the post states. "Even greater Remedy news to come in 2013..."
The Facebook comment is the latest confirmation that something -- possibly "Alan Wake" related -- is in the works at Remedy Entertainment and set for reveal. The studio's head writer, Sam Lake, also commented on Twitter Monday, stating new information would be coming soon.
"Happy new year, all you lovely people!" The post states, "In 2013 we can finally start revealing what we've been up to. Can hardly wait. It'll be cool."
Despite initially disappointing sales during its initial release in 2010, the Microsoft-published franchise has gone on to enjoy solid success, spurring a downloadable side adventure, "Alan Wake's American Nightmare" in February 2012. Both games were later ported to the PC, with Remedy Entertainment later commenting on how they were already profitable within the first day of release. Rumors have been flying around the studio, pointing at the strong possibility of a full "Alan Wake 2" for the new Xbox console, believed to be released this fall.
