Alan Keyes has once again demonstrated that the only thing in the entire world that matters to him is trying to punish his former 2004 senate opponent for the unpardonable offense of defeating him in an election.
Keyes, who has already challenged Obama's birth certificate, called him an "usurper" for assuming office after Justice Roberts flubbed the Oath of Office, repeatedly accused Obama of implementing an "agenda of death and murder" and working with terrorists to impose martial law, and given his support to a fringe group who sought to impeach Obama for (among other "offenses") having gay lovers and saying there were fifty-seven states, asserted as a guest of fellow lunatic Gordon Klingenschmitt that President Obama's mission is to destroy America.
And the only way to stop him, Keyes explained, is to make impeachment the sole focus of the 2014 midterm elections.
"We have an election in 2014," said Keyes, "and the Constitution makes it very clear; if a majority of the House impeaches them and if two-thirds of the Senate vote to kick them out, they'll be gone. A third of the Senate is up in 2014 and the whole House is up and that means we have more than enough opportunity to get an impeachment and removal Congress if we will rally around the purpose."
The Constitution is also very clear that the purpose of impeachment is to allow for formal charges against a civil officer of government for crimes committed in office, and is not simply a way for the majority party in either house to get rid of candidates they don't like.
If Keyes really wants to see Barack Obama impeached, his conspiracy theories will need to be substantiated by something stronger than a few like-minded lunatics nodding in agreement with him.
