Alan Jackson's daughter was arrested for underage drinking and assaulting a police officer. A Range Rover that 20-year-old Alexandra "Ali" Jackson was a passenger in, was pulled over south of Nashville's Music Row Wed. night when she arrested, USA Today reports Aug. 29.
The vehicle was initially stopped for speeding and tailgating, but when the officer began questioning the driver, Ali got out of the SUV and started making angry demands. The arrest warrant indicated Ali also started hitting the officer on the chest. She was reported as being intoxicated, but told police she only had three drinks. Alan Jackson's daughter resisted arrest while she was being handcuffed and used his name in the process, of course.
Police wrote on the warrant that that Ali said her father "would do anything I wanted him to do."
Ali is charged with consuming alcohol under 21, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. Her date to appear in court is Sept. 23.
Ironically, Alan Jackson just celebrated the release of his new album, "The Bluegrass Album," Tue. night and it took place about a mile north of where Ali was arrested. The country star had no comment on the arrest of his daughter, according to his rep.
This news is a bit disturbing hitting headlines the same week another country star's daughter is mired in controversy. Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter, Miley Cyrus, stirred up music fans when she gave an all-out raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards Sun. night.
