On Saturday, an Alabama vs. Texas A&M live stream and TV game will take the spotlight on the 2013 NCAA schedule for week 3. The matchup pits the #1 team in the nation in a road game test against Johnny "Football" Manziel and the A&M Aggies. Today's game is presented for sports fans as one of the NCAA football live stream and televised games from CBS Sports.
The Sporting News site reports in an Sept. 13 article that Alabama currently holds the 3-2 series advantage against Texas A&M all-time. However, it may be the loss that happened just last season that the Crimson Tide remember most and want to avenge. The team ended up losing 29-24 to Manziel and crew at Bryant-Denny Stadium, with Johnny Football going on to win the Heisman. Alabama went on to win the National Championship. Still, one would have to think revenge is on the menu.
It's important to note that legendary college football coach, Nick Saban, has a 6-1 mark when it comes to "revenge games." LSU is currently the only team who has managed to defeat the Tide in back-to-back regular seasons. A&M could become the second on Saturday. However, one glaring aspect of last year's game that Alabama is certainly looking to improve upon, is that their linebackers had just three tackles on Manziel during his 18 rushing attempts. The linebackers are certainly going to be looking for Johnny a lot more if he decides to take off on his own, rather than throw down field.
A Fox Sports report noted that Saban, when asked about Manziel, told the media:
“He’s going to make some plays. But don’t allow him to make plays because of what you did incorrectly on defense. And that’s where the discipline part is.
Have a good discipline down the field to stay matched in your coverage and not start looking at the quarterback. I told our players there’s a lot of NFL games on Sunday. You want to watch the quarterback, go watch those games. But if you start watching this guy in our game, you’re going to get busted.’’
By the way, Manziel isn't the only high profile QB in this matchup, he's just getting the majority of the press and publicity so far in the season. Alabama's A.J. McCarron has an impressive mark of 47 touchdowns and 9 interceptions during his career. Several of those interceptions came in last year's loss to A&M. Had those been limited, the outcome certainly may have been different. Today's game could be a matter of which of these two star QB's has the least mistakes, and plays the better overall game. Both have been Heisman favorites, but who will take today's biggest match so far in the 2013 NCAA season?
Start time for today's Alabama vs. Texas A&M game is at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The televised coverage will be shown on cable or satellite TV through CBS and local affiliate stations around the country. Also, CBS Sports website has advertised a legal live stream video feed for the game available here.
