The 2014 NCAA basketball live stream and televised games schedule for Saturday, Feb. 8 includes many teams from the top 25 in action on the hardwood. Among them will be No. 3 team Florida, as they host the currently-unranked Alabama squad from the SEC. The Crimson Tide sport a losing record in the conference and overall, but will try their best for the shocking upset. The latest televised and live stream NCAA basketball game arrives for fans via ESPN sources.
An ESPN.com report from Feb. 7 indicates that this will be the second game in the lineup for Gators newcomer Chris Walker. The freshman had been sitting out 12 games so far after the NCAA ruled he had received "preferential treatment." Walker also had failed to qualify academically, but began taking online classes in the fall to gain eligibility. He played just seven minutes in a win this past Tuesday over Missouri, adding a couple of dunks, rebounds and blocks in his time out on the court.
Walker said of finally getting a chance to play:
"I'm just so glad to have it behind me. My coaches and teammates have been behind me. ... All I want to do is play my role and do anything I can to help the team win."
He may get extra playing time against an Alabama Crimson Tide team with a 9-13 overall record and 3-6 record in the SEC. The team is coming off a 65-58 loss at Arkansas this past Wednesday in which they show 35.6% from the field. A bright spot was the fact they had a lead at halftime, but they'll need to bring an extra effort on Saturday afternoon at Florida. The Gators last lost back on Dec. 2 in a 65-64 defeat at UCONN.
Since then, Florida has gone on a 14-game winning streak, which included victories over ranked opponents Kansas and Memphis, as well as a 33-point rout over Texas A&M on Feb. 1. The Gators are led by Casey Prather's 15.7 points per game, while Michael Frazier II is averaging 12.6 a game. In terms of rebounding, Dorian Finney-Smith has been grabbing nearly 8 boards a game, while Patric Young is averaging 6.6 per contest. As of this report, the Gators are favored to win by as many as 15 points in Saturday's contest.
Saturday afternoon's Alabama vs. Florida basketball game has a scheduled start time of 12 p.m. Noon Eastern Standard Time. This game will be televised for cable and satellite television viewers on ESPN in both standard and hi-definition formats. In addition, ESPN's broadband sports network will have this game live streaming online in many regions of the country, for participating cable and satellite providers.
