In spite of the backlash that Phil Robertson has received as a result of his comments regarding blacks and gays, the Duck Dynasty patriarch still has thousands of fans rallying in his favor—especially in Alabama.
To show his support, Alabama State Sen. Jerry Fielding (R-Sylacauga) is planning to introduce a resolution next month recognizing Robertson as a hero.
Fielding said. “There’s a clear double standard in the media favoring a liberal worldview. When it’s used to silence and punish Christians for stating their beliefs, that’s when we must defend the rights of individuals to exercise their free speech without fear of politically-motivated repercussion. “
Fielding, along with thousands of people across Alabama, urges A&E to reverse their action against Robertson.
An online petition has generated over 250,000 signatures demanding Robertson be reinstated immediately.
On Friday, A&E issued a statement announcing that Robertson is longer banned from the show.
It looks a huge victory for the Robertson family as well as Duck Dynasty fans all over the nation.
