According to Sportsline.com, Alabama linebacker Dillon Lee was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on Thursday.
At approximately 2 a.m. the Tuscaloosa Police responded to a minor accident in the 800 block of 31st according to AL.com. The accident did not result in any injuries, but one of the drivers was intoxicated.
Soon after, the police transported Lee to the Tuscaloosa County Jail where he stayed in custody until he sobered up. Dillon Lee was released on $1000 bond.
During Alabama’s quest for a three-peat, Dillon Lee played in all 13 games, while amassing 16 tackles. He also recovered a fumble for a touchdown in 2013.
Coach Nick Saban released a short statement, but has not made any declarations on the future status of Dillon Lee. Nick Saban suspended T.J. Yeldon after a supposed throat slash against Texas A&M. The suspension was for one quarter against Colorado State.
Lee is the third Alabama player since the start of 2014 to get arrested by local police. CBS Sports notes that Alabama ends spring practice on April 19 with the A-Day game.
