The Limestone County man lived across the street from an elementary school. An anonymous tip about numerous dead kittens found in the area prompted the investigation.

According to enewscourier.com, authorities found two kittens named Melvin and Mia and two dogs alive in his home. Golden took care of his dogs.

If found guilty of the Class C felony counts, Golden faces one year in prison for each of the 22 counts.
