Two inventors, including James A. Satchell Jr. of Tuskegee, Ala., have invented a vending machine for purchasing selected items by a customer. The U.S. Patent was made public on September 8, 2010. (No. RE41,543). The other co-inventor is Johnson A. Asumadu of Kalamazoo, Mich.
Basically one can order any type item from a vending machine through the internet. Convenience being the key to sales.
An abstract of the invention, published by the U.S. Patents and Trademark Office, states the invention is a "vending machine for purchasing selected items by a customer. The vending machine includes a dispensing assembly for dispensing an item and a selector assembly connected to the dispensing assembly. A computer assembly having a central computer, video display screen and a modem is connected to and actuated by the selector for connecting the computer to an internet site and displaying a received transmission on the video screen in response to a purchased item." The patent was assigned to Vendonet Inc., Tuskegee, Ala. The application was filed on Oct. 12, 2000 (No. 09/686,626),
