One New Yorker showed his disdain loud and clear by taking his venting to social media.

Al Roker of the Today show was furious that the schools did not close and fired off his frustration via his Twitter account and his target was none other than New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The Today weatherman who is usually a jolly, happy guy ranted about the decision to keep schools open and in a slew of tweets wanted to know why;

Al Roker ‏@alroker
Why are schools all around NYC closed? It's going to take some kid or kids getting hurt before this goofball policy gets changed

Al Roker ‏@alroker

So now my daughter's NYC public school is being let out early. @NYCMayorsOffice @NYCSchools Is it worth putting kids' safety at risk?

The mayor's office did respond saying;

"NYCMayorsOffice says snow was faster/heavier than expected. "

Al responded;

Al Roker ‏@alroker
How dare @NYCMayorsOffice @NYCSchools throw NWS under the school bus. Forecast was on time and on the money

He even tweeted his thoughts on how long the mayor would be mayor after this mess ROker believes he got himself into;

Al Roker ‏@alroker

I knew this am @NYCMayorsOffice @NYCSchools would close schools. Talk about a bad prediction. Long range DiBlasio forecast: 1 term

Al Roker ‏@alroker

And how about all the parents and caregivers who have to scramble to get their kids home? Is there no one there with any common sense?

de Blasio when questioned said he respected Roker and his thoughts on the situation but;

“It’s a different thing to run a city than to give the weather on TV.”

Al qucikly had something to say;

Al Roker ‏@alroker Mr. Mayor, I could never run NYC, but I know when it's time to keep kids home from school.

de Blasio had also stated earlier that many parents want the schools open and that for some of the kids attending, if they do not get their meals at school they may only have one meal a day, if that.

The winter weather that has been hitting the country these past few weeks has caused schools, cities, and even states to close down because of the amount of ice, snow and the dangers that come with the elements.

Just two weeks Atlanta and parts of Alabama had children stuck at their schools overnight and people were forced to leave their vehicles on the interstate due to the bad weather and not being prepared many say.

Should the schools have been closed or was the mayor right in waiting it out?
