Al Roker well known weight loss in 2002 came from surgery rather than proper diet. And while it helped him get quicker results in terms of a slimmer waistline, it also came (and still comes) with some pretty serious side effects.

You’ve probably already heard the report that Roker had a special little “accident” in his pants when he recently visited the White House.

What you probably don’t know, however, is that that little “accident” wasn’t because Roker couldn’t find a toilet fast enough. It was a result of Al Roker’s weight loss—specifically, a side-effect to the surgery he elected to have over ten years ago.

"I probably went off and ate something I wasn't supposed to," he said on NBC's "Dateline." According to the Huffington Post, NBC’s Dr. Nancy Snyderman then responds that Roker’s accident is “a common side effect of the surgery.”

Turns out, Roker’s weight loss surgery can result in embarrassing and quite serious problems. According to The Atlantic, fecal and urinary incontinence are common problems patients end up having, even years after their surgery has been performed.
