People always say, ##it happens, and Al Roker of the Today show is proof that it does, and can happen anywhere, even at the White House.
Today weatherman Roker revealed during a recent interview that he may have had a bit of an accident while visiting the White House a while back.
Al who had undergone a dramatic weight loss thanks to gastric bypass surgery, was at the White House when one of the side effects of having the surgery decided to happen right then.
A very bad side effect at a very bad time.
During the Dateline interview, Al said this;
“When you have a bypass and your bowels [have] been reconstructed, you think you’re pretty safe. And I probably went off and ate something I wasn’t supposed to. And as I’m walking to the press room. I gotta pass a little gas here. I’m walking by myself. Who’s gonna know? Only a little something extra came out. I pooped my pants. Not horribly, but enough that I knew.”
Al said that he freaked out a little, went to find the nearest bathroom, threw away his underwear, and then went back out like nothing happened.
Al said; "For the rest of my White House visit I was commando."
After that incident that could have been extremely embarrassing, Al has been extremely careful with what he eats.
When undergoing major life altering surgeries like the bypass, certain foods can not be consumed after having the procedure, spicy foods, red sauces, and other things.
Eating the wrong foods can cause heartburn, and many stomach issues, and problems like Al endured.
Roker's surgery in 2002 helped him lose almost 100 lbs and he talks all about it in his new book, a memoir, called; "Never Goin’ Back: My Weight Loss Journey."
Al can laugh about the incident now, but at the time one could imagine the sheer horror he felt.
