Today, Al Jardine notified his legion of Facebook followers, that he and fellow founding member Brian Wilson had been invited by Mike Love to join Love on stage for the upcoming Ronald Reagan tribute concert.
Love and The Beach Boys band will be headlining "A Concert for America – A Tribute to Ronald Reagan." The event, sponsored by the Reagan Foundation, will also include appearances by Lonestar, Lee Greenwood, Fred Thompson, Jerry West, and video tributes from George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.
From his home in Big Sur Jardine said, "I am pleased to be playing at the Ronald Reagan centennial event with Mike and Bruce. Later this year we celebrate the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary so this is a nice way to begin that process. We were asked to play at President Reagen's second inaugural, so it seems only fitting we show our respect to the President once again. I hope Brian will be able to join us at this historic event." At the time of the announcement Wilson had declined.
According to The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Library website, the concert is "comprised of live music and in-person and video tributes from world leaders and prominent individuals whose lives were impacted by the legacy of President Reagan." The group is set to play a 20-minute set during the two-hour program on Saturday, February 5, and the weekend’s activities will be streamed live on the Foundation’s website from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. PST. You can watch the concert live by viewing it online at: www.reaganfoundation.org/live-webcasts.aspx.

The irony? Reagan's idiot Secretary of the Interior, James Watt banned the Beach Boys from playing at the annual celebration on the Mall because they were SUBVERSIVE. LOL!
That IDIOT James Watt banned The Beach Boys, AMERICA'S BAND since so many years - he had no idea what he was doing in those days. Nice "revenge" for The Boys now !! With Al probably on stage, but Brian - please join !!?? Would be the perfect event then !!

According to a Capitol Records spokesperson Brian is NOT taking part in this farce of a reunion. Beach Boys with no Wilsons? I do't think so!
It's time for Brian Wilson to put his ego away and be part of The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary. His brothers Carl and Dennis up there in rock & roll heaven would want him to do this!
better some reunion than no reunion. Go Al, Mike & Bruce. Lets do :
- then i kissed her (Al lead)
- their hearts were full of spring (group)
- disney girls (Bruce lead)
- Do it again (Mike lead)
A Beach Boy reunion...Wouldn't it be nice....
I don't think that Brian has an ego. It has to be something else. I am thankful that Al Jardine and Mike Love are letting by-gones be by-gones and going forward with their friendship. The reunion shows may not last forever but I will hopefully get to enjoy one of their shows anyway. We should stop arguing about it and criticizing it and embracing it for what it will be. This won't go on for many years to come just given their ages. I am for it!
Don't care for Mike, but would love to see them. Is David well enough to join?
Anything having to do with any sort of a salute to one of America's worst Presidents is a waste of time. Ronald Reagan was a disgust to the history of America and was one of the reasons, along with both of the Bush's, that I have left the USA and now consider it my ex-country.
I love the Beach Boys but hate Ronald Reagan. He was the second link (after Nixon) in the continuing ever-downward spiral chain of America... the Empire in decline.
