Al Gore's real green movement

I will be writing a series of commentary pieces on subjects where Americans need to demand the truth. Today I want to dispel an untruth. The LDS church is wrong. They are not the fastest growing religion on the planet. Nope, the green movement is. Al Gore left office as Vice-President and borrowed L. Ron Hubbard's philosophy that "If a man really wanted to make a lot of money, he would start his own religion." And that is exactly what Al Gore has done.

When Al Gore left office he was a millionaire, worth an estimated $2 million, however since leaving office and becoming the Green Movement Prophet, he has parlayed his position to amass an enormous amount of wealth. He may even be the first green billionaire soon. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/energy/6491195/Al-Gore-could-become-worlds-first-carbon-billionaire.html

Al Gore has a tremendous following of devoted believers. But, they should ask themselves this question. If the environment is really as bad as Gore claims, why isn't he changing his lifestyle? Al Gore's carbon footprint is enormous. His mansion in Tennessee uses 20 times the average amount of energy than the average American home. In one month he and his family consume double the average American family's yearly consumption of electricity. By his own standards, he is contributing to the degradation of the planet, and that's not including his private jet and fleet of SUVs into the equation. Don't you think if the planet was really in danger and he had all of the facts that he claims to have, he would feel compelled to reduce his own carbon footprint?

Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot... He buys carbon credits like any other Wall Street fat cat would. So I guess he's exempt because he's now rich and can afford to hurt the environment. He is at least doing something, right? He's trying to reduce his impact, by buying the new version of indulgences, except who is he buying them from? A little research shows that Mr. Gore buys his carbon credits from Generation Investment Management. Check into their board member list and guess who's on there? Yep, Al Gore is on the board of this company and a founding partner. So he is buying "carbon credits" and then making money on them. I see a pattern here. Al Gore sure does love green things... like the money piling up in his own pocket. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=54528

The Green Movement should be ending based on the newly revealed shady science that has propagated this myth. Did you notice that they euphemistically changed their cause from Global Warming to Climate Change about the same time that statistics began to show that the Earth is actually cooling? Climategate made headlines for a couple of weeks and has somehow disappeared from the national airwaves. We need to demand answers and the truth. If the Earth was simply going through a warming cycle as it does periodically, and human beings cannot be proven to have contributed to the temperature rising, then tell us before Congress passes the enormously expensive Cap and Trade bill. This bill, in the words of President Obama, "Would necessarily cause the costs of utilities to skyrocket". Can you afford to have your utility bills skyrocket? Can the over 10% of unemployed Americans afford that? Especially when we don't even know that there is a problem to be solved.

The truth is too many people, Al Gore included, have too much to lose if the truth comes out. That's why the media doesn't go after this story. We have all been bamboozled by this slick snake oil salesman. Don't get me wrong, I believe in being a good steward of the earth. Recycling makes sense, using less energy makes sense, especially while we are buying oil from a region of the world that does not particularly care for us, but changing life as we know it, stopping progress and spending billions if not trillions of dollars on something that is not proven to be true is the definition of insanity. It's like the people who gave all their money to Jim and Tammy Faye Baker. Hopefully the American taxpayers won't be swindled.

Global warming is a complete hoax that too much money has been wasted on. It's time for the truth to come out and the nonsense to stop.

What about the poor farmers in Central California who have had their lives destroyed in the name of the Green Movement. They can't have irrigation water because of some tiny fish. We need to get a grip on reality and start worrying more about what really matters.

I disagree with you. Al Gore cares about how our Mother Earth is treated and is not in this for the money. Yes, he makes money off of the Carbon Credits, but he also gives back to the environment.

Personally, I love my Mother Earth and us humans are a virus. All we do is destroy everything beautiful about it. Why is it that people that live in a city have to have a huge truck? All around teh country these type of people pollute the air with their deisel trucks and don't even use them for hauling anything.

The spirit moves through all things. We are all connected to our Mother and we need to respect her.

I love the line about Gore loving "green" things meaning money. "climate change" is about control. More government control of our lives and our money. Great job Colette.

Great commentary, Colette. Al Gore's carbon footprint is huge, which means either that he's a hypocrite or that, behind his green rhetoric, he has goals other than "saving the planet." I'm sure that I'll be labeled a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't be surprised if environmentalism is used as a means of attaining dictatorship (after all we must save the mother earth from the actions of disgusting human beings, whose lives have no value, right???), if not by Mr. Obama, then by a subsequent president.

Good article. Those who won't save a human life in the womb but want to save snail darters have a view of life that is essentially hateful of mankind and of God, no matter what they claim. If the house is on fire, the Gore environmentalists are guiding everyone to the elevator, while ignoring the stairs as "old-fashioned." Anyone who listens to them is going to fry between floors with Gore.
