AJ McCarron's girlfriend Katherine Webb stole the show on ESPN during Monday night's televised BCS National Championship game. She also has gained a heavy Twitter following due to her spotlight. That Twitter account also shows her love and support for boyfriend AJ and Alabama.
Prior to last night's crushing win for the Crimson Tide, Miss Alabama Katherine Webb posted a Twitter picture on Jan. 6 of her and AJ in one another's arms. The photo, pictured above included the supportive message "Go get 'em babe."
That message may have fired up AJ and Alabama, as he passed for 264 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 42-14 rout of Notre Dame. That brought the Crimson Tide their third national title in four years, and second straight.
The winning effort brought more support and praise from Webb who tweeted post-game:
"So extremely blessed... @10AJMcCarron. Congrats to Alabama and making history! #BCSChamps"
Last night's TV-showcasing of AJ's girlfriend reportedly brought Webb as many as 100,000 new followers on the social media site, so she may want to get used to tweeting, or seeing a lot of "will you marry me?" requests from random fans. Whether or not this translates into some sort of new endorsements or TV gigs remains to be seen, but her time in the spotlight on ESPN and now YouTube could certainly help her get some sort of work, or at least some TV interviews soon.
Katherine Webb was seen on television in the crowd on ESPN during the Alabama vs. Notre Dame BCS National Championship game on Cox Cable channel 25.
