New mom Aishwarya Rai met the press but baby girl Beti B was not with the Bollywood Actress. Shockingly, when Mrs. Bachchan made her first appearance, a tabloid spoke unkindly about her footwear, calling it a fashion faux pas.
Just eight days ago, the "ninth Bachchan" was born, and Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek became proud parents for the first time in their marriage. On the day the former Miss World Pageant 1994 winner checked in Seven Hills Hospital after having contractions, the media broke formal rules of courtesy.
The venerable actor and proud grandpa Amitabh Bachchan asked that the media be kept at bay; the family deserves their privacy just like others do. But because Aishwarya Rai did not give any interviews before her baby girl Beti B was born, or allow pictures to be taken, the media threatened a boycott.
Now in Aishwarya Rai latest news, when the actress finally gave the media some face time after discharge, instead of focusing on the precious moment of motherhood, Bollywood Life makes mention of her slippers, seen in this photo.
"She may be pretty grace personified, but why oh why did she have to wear those clunky silver flip-flops and wreck the elegant image? ~ excerpt from a Bollywood Life story
In that recent story ran by the online tabloid, it talked about her "hideous slippers." While she opted for a demure look, she looked very comfortable, bright, and glowing. Heck, she just had a darn child for Pete's sake! And all the media can talk about is her slippers?
What about Aishwarya Rai's baby girl Beti B, the Bollywood actress' road ahead, her next project, names for the new born, and how Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek are coping with the birth?
While names are still being considered for the newborn child, photos of the baby are still elusive. But it underscores the importance the Bachchan family is putting on getting it right for Aishwarya Rai and her baby girl. They deserve nothing less.
Perhaps Big B got it all right when he dedicated a poem to Beti B. It was given to him by his late father. It signifies family, future, and faith. Maybe the media needs to focus on these things, not flip flops?
