Airport security will change after Friday’s terrorist attack. Federal officials said Saturday that new restrictions in airport security will change after the terrorist attack on Friday in Detriot.
The changes will most likely lengthen lines at domestic airports. The changes will also limit international travelers to move about an airplane.
While the US government has been vague about changes, stating that they want the security to be “unpredictable” and measures will vary at each airport. The NY Times reported that a flight from Newark to Little Rock had cabin lights on during the entire flight.
A few airlines have released detailed information about the changes. Travelers on US bound international flights may have to remain in their seats for the last hour of a flight, and will not be allowed to have personal items on their laps, the New York Times reported.
Many airports across the world are experiencing longer security lines on Sunday because of the changes. While international travelers are only allowed one carry-on item.
So far, the US government has only announced international changes sent through bulletins to airports, and domestic changes have yet to be announced.
