As the National Football League (NFL) fans begin to trickle in to Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) for the Super Bowl, security measures continue to stay high following last month’s failed Christmas day terror attack. The increase in passenger travel for the Super Bowl in conjunction with the continued increase in security measures can cause a lot of congestion at the security checkpoints and during airport passenger pick up and drop off. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has increased security measures following the failed attempt of the Christmas Day bomber. Some 6 million of the money for the security measures comes from the NFL, according to MSNBC. It is suggested to factor in time and patience into your travel plans for traveling and to plan in advance by viewing the TSA web site. You can also find travel information about FLL, by clicking here.

FLL has a good variety of gift shops, activities, and restaurants to enjoy during potential layovers and delays. The airport is just minutes from the beach, a beautiful and tranquil setting for dining and shopping in the evening. It’s also just a short drive to the Dolphin Stadium. All travelers should plan ahead and contact their respective airline to help make Super Bowl travel as quick and painless as possible.
