AirMech, a fast-paced real-time strategy (RTS) game, has been available as a Steam Early Access Game for PC since late 2012. RTS titles have been hit or miss when released to consoles but Carbon Games sounds confident that it's built AirMech Arena to appeal to console gamers as well.

"As an indie developer, AirMech has been our passion for the past several years, and we are thrilled to partner with Ubisoft to bring the game to console," said James Green of Carbon Games in a press release sent to this Examiner. "AirMech Arena was created from the ground up to be the ultimate RTS experience with a gamepad. The fast-paced action and depth of strategy brings console gamers a new experience we are confident they will enjoy.”

In AirMech Arena, players command giant transforming robots to capture and protect bases while building up their own armies to face down opponents. As fortresses are captured, powerful units, pilots, items and AirMechs are unlocked. The game supports single-player, multiplayer cooperative and multiplayer competitive gameplay for teams of two to three players.

While an official release date has not been announced, Ubisoft says to expect it to hit the Xbox 360 this summer.
