Air New Zealand, best known for their fun commercials is teaming up with Voice of Antarctica and giving a lucky traveler a chance to join National Geographic photographer and passionate environmentalist, Jason Edwards on assignment to Antarctica. This will be one awesome opportunity for the fortunate person to work side by side with Jason.

This is how the winner will experience this once in a lifetime Antarctic adventure:
Week one: Your Antarctica experience will begin at the International Antarctic Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand. You’ll spend time learning about the bigger environmental picture and why Antarctic research is so important. You’ll visit New Zealand Antarctic research facilities and meet key research partners.
Day before: This is when it gets really exciting, as you’re introduced to Jason Edwards, one of National Geographic’s finest photographers and natural history enthusiasts. Here, you will be briefed fully on the assignment by the team and make the final preparations for your assignment on the ice.
The expedition: Spend up to 14 days learning more about scientific research by observing the people involved - experiencing all the fascinating aspects of Antarctica life along the way. Anchored at New Zealand’s Scott Base, you’ll split your time between documenting the work on the Ross Ice Shelf and environmental research teams. From measuring ice thickness to studying the unique Antarctic eco-systems, you’ll discover how the data we collect today is being used to understand the importance of Antarctica and the effects changes here will have on the rest of the world.
Throughout, you’ll bring your experience alive for everyone back at home. You’ll share your experience and learning, using your storytelling skills to create a voice for Antarctica, one of the most unique environments in the world.
