The news came in last night that former Air Force Staff Sgt. Luis Walker died at a hospital Sunday night. He was found unresponsive two days earlier in his cell at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

The incident is under investigation, although media sources have reported that Walker hung himself in his cell.

In August of 2012, Walker was convicted of rape and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He had served two years of that sentence.

Described as a sexual predator Walker not only was convicted for raping a recruit but also for having “improper relationships” with ten other trainees at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

In the sweeping sex-scandal, there were another eight trainers also accused of sexual misconduct. Reportedly there were 38 victims of these sexual assaults.
