Air Dubai, Hindershot & more: Denver live music weekend picks Jan. 27-28

With the New Year now in full swing, the Denver music scene is as busy as ever, with great acts performing in venues all over town. Here are just a few of the more promising gigs happening in the Denver area for the last weekend of January 2012.
 
FRIDAY, JAN. 27

Local rock band Hindershot is having a CD release party at 3 Kings Tavern, 60 S. Broadway in Denver. Also appearing are Accordion Crimes, Skeleton Show and Samurai Buck. Tickets are $6 each, available from 3 Kings Tavern. Service charge may apply. Doors at 8:00 PM; ages 21+.
 
 
SATURDAY, JAN. 28

Denver hip-hop act Air Dubai and Chicago act Kids These Days are co-headlining at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 S. Broadway in Englewood. Also appearing are Petals of Spain and SF1. Tickets are $12 advance, $14 day of show, available through Gothic Theatre; service charges may apply. Doors at 8:00 PM; show starts at 9:00. Ages 16+.
 
Local alt-country act The Hollyfelds will play at the Little Bear Saloon, 27895 Hwy. 74 in downtown Evergreen. Cover charge at the door; ages 21+. Band goes on at 9:00 PM.
 
Denver indie-rock band In the Whale is having a CD release show at the Hi-Dive, 7 S. Broadway in Denver. Opening acts are Eldren, the Forge and Reviving Cecilia. Tickets are $7 each, plus service charge, available from Hi-Dive. Doors at 8:00 PM; show starts at 9:00. Ages 18+.
