The 5K route, running along Milwaukee’s scenic lakefront, begins and ends at the famous Summerfest Grounds / Henry W. Maier Festival Park. For the first time, this annual event includes both a 5K walk and a 5K run.
Pledges and proceeds from the 5K run/walk benefit the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.
This health awareness event is perennially Wisconsin’s biggest HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) fundraiser of the year. So far, in its 13-year history, the annual AIDS Walk Wisconsin has raised more than $10.6 million for AIDS research, care, prevention, and treatment across the Badger State.
Individual and team participants may register online for AIDS Walk Wisconsin. Costumes and matching team wear are optional.
On-route rest stops will be available at the AIDS Walk Wisconsin 5K, as well as children’s activities, food concessions, and live entertainment.
