Iran’s President Ahmadinejad says putting pressure on Iran is not something that will force it to change its position because he claims Iran’s nuclear ambitions are for peaceful purposes. He insists it’s better for countries such as France, Great Britain, Russia and others to cooperate with Iran according to the laws (he didn’t specify if that meant sharia or otherwise) and that the pursuit of nuclear goals for peaceful purposes is not only in alignment with international law, but that it is also righteous, according to a video posted at www.abcnews.go.com on Tuesday. He also insisted that 188 states who aren’t members of the International Atomic Energy Agency support Iran going nuclear, and that 57 Islamic countries support Iran’s position regarding their nuclear ambitions.

In another ABC news video he insisted that capitalism has failed and that a New World Order (One World system) needs to arise. Being the extremist Muslim that he is, he is likely thinking along the lines of a New World Order under sharia law.

Back in June, this Examiner mentioned a www.farsnews.com article that reported that Iran’s President Ahmadinejad was calling for, “cooperation among world states to forge a new world order.” He had told this to reporters shortly before heading to Istanbul, Turkey so that he could participate in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The article also stated that the Kazakhstan initiated organization presently has 18 member states, one of which is Iran. A few other interesting members include Russia, China, Turkey, Afghanistan, Palestine and the United Arab Emirates. By the way, the US is an “observer” member and the UN, OSCE and League of Arab states are organizers of the CICA according to the CICA website.

In an ABC news article on Tuesday, he stated that if the US or Israel were to bomb the Bushehr nuclear reactor, that Iran would see it as an act of war and that Iran would retaliate. He threatened that such a war would be one that, “would know no boundaries”, and that, "War is not just bombs."

The problem with Iran’s nuclear ambitions is that not only has Ahmadinejad publically denied that the Holocaust ever happened and therefore, refuses allow all Iranian schools to teach about it, but in the past, he has also expressed his desire to wipe out Israel and America, which in his mind are the ultimate symbol of Jews and Christians. Extremist Muslim countries, or those who are at “jihad” with Israel and America, seem to be quite content to go about the destruction of both countries by a slow and steady pace – perhaps realizing that such a slow erosion may actually be the most effective tactic.

Back in August, this Examiner mentioned that a www.debka.com article revealed the admission of Iranian official Ali Lanijani regarding the sanctions being an encouragement for Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Lanijani also stated that Iran has the information and technology necessary to actually create nuclear weapons, and that a law was passed in Tehran last month which “ordered the government to proceed with uranium enrichment up to 30 percent, which (Debka indicated) is a short jump to weapons-grade fuel .”

This information, as well as what appears to be Turkey’s new alliance with Iran and a pact that Iran and Turkey signed with Iran is apparently making Israel a bit nervous. While Debka reported that the pact is “limited to the war on Kurdish insurgents,” Israel has shared military secrets with Turkey over the years, and Israel is concerned that Turkey may be sharing those secrets with Iran. So Israel ran some war exercises to prepare for the possibility of an all out battle with Iran.

Another reason why the sanctions and summits aren’t working, according to an article by Avi Benlolo posted in May at www.network.natinalpost.com is because “Iran has smartly cultivated alliances and trading partners; it is aligning itself with the sub-Saharan African nations as it has with several Latin American countries like Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua.” Benlolo is the president and CEO for Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies.

One thought that Benlolo had regarding how Ahmadinejad could be stopped was through the intervention of Canada, who has an “international reputation for human rights and freedoms (that) places it in a unique position to stop Iran.” Benlolo suggested that “Canada should immediately launch a campaign of aligned nations who will together press for an International Criminal Court (ICC) indictment of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Ali Khamenei, the Republic’s Supreme Leader.”

Benlolo said that the charges would be for, “Direct and Public Incitement to Commit Genocide. International law criminalizes genocide and history has taught us (most recently in Rwanda) that failure of the international community to act against the provocation and preparation of genocide has resulted in mass murder. If Ahmadinejad and Khamenei were to be indicted, this would be the first time leaders who promote hate and genocide toward another identifiable group are prevented from carrying out their intended action.”

Some specific remarks that Benlolo brought up as examples that he believed would fit such a charge against Ahmadinejad included, “As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map”; Are they human beings? ‘They are like cattle, nay, more misguided.’ A bunch of blood thirsty barbarians,” and “Very soon, this stain of disgrace will be purged from the center of the Islamic world – and this is attainable.”

As for how one US congressman suggested it ought to be handled, www.thehill.com reported in May that New York Democrat Congressman Steve Israel said that Ahmadinejad ought to be “arrested and tried with war crimes,” and “incitement to commit genocide,” and that “he (Ahmadinejad) has called for the destruction of Israel and its people. Incitement to Genocide is a punishable act and instead of giving him another platform at the UN, he should be tried.” Israel also stated that Ahmadinejad’s words need to be taken seriously because he isn’t “merely a pundit whose words can be dismissed: he is the leader of a country developing nuclear arms.”

Meanwhile, a www.israeltoday.com article reported on Monday that Ambassador Abdullah Abdullah admitted to Palestinian newspaper Al-Hayat Al-Jadida back in September that, “the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations…are not a goal, but rather another stage in the Palestinian struggle… to isolate Israel, to tighten the noose on it, to threaten its legitimacy, and to present it as a rebellious, racist state.” And mainstream media and much of the west wonder why peace between Palestine and Israel is so elusive. Israel Today also pointed to a Fox News interview with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak that ought to be a sobering thought for the Obama administration: “History will judge his administration largely on whether or not Iran went nuclear on his watch,” and that “it would be no more than a year or two before Iran fields a nuclear weapon, and depending on what is in all those secret underground facilities Iran is building, it could be much sooner.”

It's all seems to be looking more and more like something out of Zechariah chapters 12 and 14.
