Ahmad Bradshaw cut: Giants release RB along with defensive tackle Chris Canty

Ahmad Bradshaw led the New York Giants in rushing in 2010, 2011 and 2012, but today Bradshaw is looking for a job. The New York Giants have decided to part ways with Bradshaw and DT Chris Canty in an effort to trim down the 2013 payroll.

According to the NY Daily News on Feb.6, "The Giants’ minor “retooling” project took a major turn on Wednesday when Bradshaw and Canty were released by the team. They are the second and third veterans to get the ax after linebacker Michael Boley was cut on Tuesday, and the three moves took about $13.75 million in salary-cap space off their 2013 books."

The bottom line is just like any other business, the Giants had to make moves to keep under the salary cap, but the cuts did catch many fans by surprise.

One things for sure, Bradshaw, Canty and Boley will likely catch on with a new team.

The Giants host the 2014 Super Bowl and will try to make history and be the first team to host and play in a Super Bowl.
