Christina Aguilera chose a unique name for her baby girl, but the name is not shocking. On Aug. 18 E! News reported that The Voice mentor named her daughter Summer Rain. The singer took to her Twitter account to make the announcement just one day after giving birth to the baby via c-section at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
This is the first child for Aguilera's fiance, Matt Rutler, and the second child for her (she has son, Max, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman). While Christina didn't give much of an explanation about why she chose the baby's name, many wonder if there will be some significance on the star's next album. On Aug. 11, Aguilera was letting her baby listen to some music in the studio by way of a pair of headphones clinging to her baby bump.
Did Aguilera name her baby girl after writing a song about her? Since Christina has been in the studio quite a bit over the past several weeks, many wonder if her pregnancy inspired some of her music -- or perhaps some song lyrics inspired her daughter's name.
Christina and Matt have not released any details about their little girl, such as her weight or time of birth, but that will more than likely be saved for Summer's first official photo. It's unknown if Christina inked a deal with a magazine, but chances are you will be seeing the happy family on a magazine cover in the next couple of months.
"So proud to welcome our beautiful daughter Summer Rain Rutler into the world," Christina tweeted on Sunday night. Thousands of people retweeted the message, many sending their congratulations to the second time mom. As far as the baby's name goes, most people think it's beautiful. Do you?
