A number of local exhibitors had problems in the Agility League competition here in upstate NY held at SOTC last Saturday. Some dogs hit bars, some dogs missed contacts and some dogs had trouble weaving. While many of those exhibitors will be taking advantage of the Tracy Sklenar seminars at SOTC this coming weekend, a few people may choose more drastic measures.
From the British Isles, where dog sports reach heights of greatest, we now have a porker showing the dogs how it is done. Louie, the esteemed pot belly pig, is even trying to make his way to Crufts! A goal that many US dogs would love to achieve. Check Louie out here.
For those not desperate enough to switch species and try pig agility, Tracy Sklenar's seminars may provide some help. Tracy's techniques have helped many of our local dogs such as Benny, achieve heights of greatness. The working spots are full but auditing is an excellent way to learn while not stressed and have the freedom to take plenty of notes.
Friday's schedule has "Handling Out of Your Comfort Zone" and "I Feel the Need for Speed". On Saturday, course offerings are "Motion Control" in the morning, then a repeat of Friday's "Handling Out of Your Comfort Zone" in the afternoon. "Finding Lines and Turn Cues" takes up Sunday morning with "Total Recall" set for Sunday afternoon.
