'Agents of SHIELD' ratings drop to series low

"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" returned from hiatus on Tuesday (March 4) to series low ratings, reports.

In its first episode facing "The Voice" since October, the superhero drama dropped 23 percent from its most recent episode to just 5.1 million viewers and a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating.

According to, the ratings for last night's episode have since been adjusted up to 5.46 million viewers and a 1.8 demo rating, which is still a new low for the series.

In what was a rough night for ABC overall, freshman comedy "Trophy Wife" also dropped to a series low of 2.64 million viewers and a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating, while recent addition "Mind Games" fell a steep 45 percent from last week's premiere to just 2.12 million viewers and 0.6 demo rating.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" (14.37 million viewers, 2.1 rating) and "Person of Interest" (10.64 million viewers, 1.7 rating) also fell to series lows on CBS, though the network won the night with total viewers while NBC was the number one network in adults 18-49.

The news was also grim for Fox's "Glee," which was down 17 percent in its new timeslot to just 2.93 million viewers and a 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

NBC was the only broadcast network to see ratings growth with "The Voice," which rose from last week's Tuesday episode to 14.53 million viewers and a 4.1 adults 18-49 rating, and "About a Boy" improving slightly from its premiere to 8.36 million viewers and a 2.5 demo rating. "Chicago Fire" (7.07 million viewers, 1.9 rating) also rose by 6 percent from last week's episode, while new comedy "Growing Up Fisher" (6.91 million viewers, 1.9 rating) remained steady.
