Skye: “And what was the last one?”
Coulson: “A hammer.”

Thankfully the writers address the lack of a team dynamic. Skye calls everyone out on how they don’t seem to work as an experience team. There is no other person who could have called them out on it, well other than some random outsider, but it is much better to have her be the one to do it. It would have been great to learn more about Fitz and Simmons, and if they have worked together before. They certainly work comfortably around each other, but maybe that is bonding over science, much like Stark and Bruce did (Science bros). Are you in love with the team already or do they need to work on some things?
Slowly the writers are revealing more about the characters. Sadly, there isn’t much. Coulson reveals a good bit of people’s background when he is stating how smart Ward, Fitz, and Simmons are, saying how they should be able to work together. This is the extent of their background that is known. It wouldn’t be strange to see Skye asking various characters about their work history or about their personal lives. Actually since none of them have worked together, anyone could ask questions. It wouldn’t make sense for Ward to ask, but Skye or Simmons seem like the type to make small chat. Skye is supposed to be a mystery at this point, but even then, she is one of the characters (other than Coulson) that viewers know the most about. Which character do you want to know the most about?
Here are quick thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. A surprisingly cool thing about Skye is that she is knowledgeable about what is going on all around the world. It would be interesting to have her give background whenever she can about some of the places they visit. The twist that Camilla and company are planning on taking over the plane isn’t really a shocking twist. It’s pretty obvious that they are not going to play nice, especially since the episode begins with the plane explosion. Clearly something is not right about Coulson and the magical Tahiti. Anytime anyone brings it up, Coulson has the exact same response. What are your theories?
