The Asgardians have returned! Personally, I have always been a fan of Lady Sif, so the fact that she is the Asgardian to cross over is absolutely fantastic. The writers provide enough background about Lorelei and Sif, for those who aren’t familiar with either woman. Plus, the writers provide more background of Sif that has ever been given in a Thor movie. May and Sif have a great scene together, and it is a great way for the writers to have Sif profile Lorelei. As far as Lorelei’s attacks go, it never comes off as super serious. Sif keeps talking about how dangerous Lorelei is, but all of her “attacks” feel like a low level threat. All she is doing is running a gang, which is nothing new. However, it could have gotten serious if Lorelei was around longer or in contact with more people like Ward. Did you enjoy the Asgardian visit?
Coulson does finally open up to Skye about the miracle drug, and he explains that they can’t tell anyone. While he does have valid reasons, we know at some point the rest of the team will learn the truth and be upset that they kept this secret from them. It would be great to see Coulson and Skye having to begrudgingly tell someone in order to gain their assistance. People are already starting to notice that Coulson is acting weird, so they will definitely pick up on him and Skye being secretive. Don’t even talk to me about May right now. My current theory is that her updates go to Director Fury. Do you think Coulson and Skye should fill the team in?
Here are some thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. There are a good amount of character moments in this episode. Simmons is being a badass in this episode. Coulson has already denied her once to send the samples to HQ, but Simmons does not back down. It is great to see Simmons stand up to Coulson because of her duty as a scientist. She believes GH-325 to be a miracle drug and that she should share this miracle drug. Ward and May’s sexual relationship plays a part, and Lorelei figures out (or is possibly told) that Ward has a thing for Skye. Hopefully the writers will address May’s feelings in all of this. She brushes Ward off at the end, but it isn’t hard to see that May is hurt. What did you think of the episode.
