In this week’s episode, titled “T.R.A.C.K.S.”, the unit goes undercover on a mysterious train as they are pursuing the Clairvoyant and Ian Quinn.

Coulson tells the group about how he thinks he knows where they can find Ian Quinn. There is a package on a train that is going to be delivered to Quinn. He says that they are all going to have to go undercover on the train to find the package and where it is going but the plan goes array really quickly as they are made. Ward/Coulson jump from the train and watch as the train disappearances due to a mysterious device.

The show continues with the curious way that it tells a story as it jumps back and forth to the spot where they are made and goes through the motions of how they all connect and get back together. The rest of the show we get to see what happens from that point until they all come together. It looks like not everyone in SHIELD is clean as one of their own sells them out.

Each POV offers new information into the story. Ward learns that it was someone from SHIELD that ratted them out; Skye and Fitz learn what the device is that froze time and they also see the transfer of the package. Skye/Fitz learn the most in their POV as they find out where Quinn is and Skye learns that Quinn has Mike. The biggest shocking moment comes at the end of Skye’s POV as she learns that the Clairvoyant controls Mike now right before Quinn shoots her twice and leaves her to die.

When the group finds Skye, she has lost so much blood that she is on the verge of dying. Each one of the group each react differently to Skye being hurt.

Ward tells May that he’s worried about the change in Coulson and Skye from their past experiences in the last few episodes. He also tells her that he’s worried about him finding out about their relationship but she tells him that she already told Ward. When Ward tries to talk to Coulson about it, he tells Ward that he better not compromise a mission or he will send him away.

There is a bit more going on with Ward and May then they are both letting on. Whether it’s just one-sided or not is hard to tell. Ward seems to be jealous when he sees Coulson helping Ward. It’s not the first time that he’s done something like this, and it probably won’t be the last time. May on the other hand is not so clear about how she feels about Ward.

Now, it wouldn’t be a Marvel story if Stan Lee didn’t make an appearance somewhere. This is no different. Stan Lee makes a guest appearance on the train as an angry man who scolds Coulson who is pretending to have an argument with his daughter, Simmons.

In the next episode, Skye continues to fight for her life and the group goes on the hunt to try and find her
