Agassi to speak at Wolf Pack Governor's Dinner

Tennis player Andre Agassi will serve as the keynote speaker at the 46th annual Governor’s Dinner in July, Nevada Wolf Pack athletics director Doug Knuth announced Wednesday.

“We are thrilled to have one of the best athletes of our generation to speak at this great event,” Knuth said.

A native of Las Vegas, Agassi turned professional at age 16 and won his first professional event in Reno at Lakeridge Tennis Club. He won 60 men’s singles titles, including eight Grand Slam singles championships, over a 20-year career. A former World No. 1 player, Agassi is the only male player ever to win all four Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold medal.

Agassi was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2011.

The dinner is set for July 18th at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City. Tickets are on sale now at $300 per person with tables of eight at $2,400.
