United States Attorney General Eric Holder appeared on ABC television’s “This Week” and verbally attacked former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as well as the host of Americans who are critics of President Barack Obama. As far as the Sarah Palin-attack, Holder criticized her as being neither a very good legal scholar nor an effective vice presidential candidate back in 2008 when she was running with presidential hopeful-Sen. John McCain of Arizona on the Republican ticket. His comments slamming Palin were given as he fielded questions regarding Palin’s call for Obama’s impeachment, according to Newsmax on Sunday.
Holder said that Palin was not a particularly good vice presidential candidate and she is an even worse judge of who ought to be impeached and why. Of course, as Holder would well know, the former Alaska governor is just one of many Republicans who have been calling for the president to be impeached. The increasing numbers of opposition party persons who are calling for Obama’s impeachment include a list of reasons why they want him out of office.
These reasons include Obama’s excessive use of executive orders. He is primarily being criticized for his executive orders issued in the follow-up of his Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) law, but there are others. Also, Obama’s handling or mishandling of the United States’ southern border crisis with the illegals entering the country is of grave contention with Republicans and even some of Obama’s fellow-Democrats at this time.
According to ABC, Holder said that Republicans decided early on that this was a president they were just simply not going to cooperate with. He went on to say, “Over the past five-and-a-half years, we have seen demonstrations of that, where the president has reached out his hand, offered compromises that have simply not been met… they have been in the past by a Republican Party willing to do the appropriate things.” Beyond that, Holder went as far as to pull the race card.
Racially, Holder said that there are people talking about taking their country back. He claims that there is a certain racial component to this for some people. He doesn’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there is a racial animus. Many Obama defenders, like Holder, continually claim that any criticism of President Obama is over the fact that he is a black person rather than believing the criticisms are over the direction his policies and executive orders are taking the country. Many persons believe these racist comments by the likes of governmental officials like Holder actually fuel the fire of racism in America.
