Model Amber Rose is proud of her weight loss success after having a baby, but she wants to send a message to other women: Take your time. "Don't put ur life at risk for society's standards of when ur supposed to lose ur pregnancy weight," she advised her Instagram followers, reported the New York Daily News on Dec. 15.
After giving birth to her son with Wiz Khalifa in February, Amber emphasizes that she used diet and fitness to achieve the impressive results.
However, she doesn't want other women to feel pressured to shed their baby weight overnight.
"Most celebs give u false hope when u have a baby (My son was 9lbs) and in 3 months ur supposed to be skinny again," she posted with a selfie.
"It's not realistic in most cases. It takes 6 weeks to heal before u could even work out."
During her pregnancy, Amber practiced yoga and focused on healthy food choices. Those two moves helped her lose the baby weight more easily.
"The moral of the story is, losing baby weight the natural way takes longer but it's much healthier for ur body and helps u stay strong to carry another baby," she pointed out.
Amber weighed 202 pounds when she had her son, reported WetPaint on Dec. 15. She waited to start shedding the baby weight, then at the end of November posted an update.
"I'm almost at my goal weight. Just 7 pounds to go!” she wrote to her fans.
But she's emphasizing that her achievement did not involve liposuction or cosmetic surgery.
"Absolutely no surgery just diet & exercise," she disclosed.
