August 16, 2010 -- Yesterday, many months after the BP oil spill crisis first began, the Obama family visited Florida to promote tourism.

Their short time in the Sunshine state had the President, the First Lady and the First Daughter playing miniature golf  at the Pirate's Island Miniature Golf Course. The Obamas also went plying St. Andrews Bay on a sightseeing tour aboard the Bay Point Lady and Barack and Sasha tested the waters by taking a dip at Alligator Point.

While on the mini golf course in Panama City, Sasha earned a hole-in-one, high-fiving her parents to cement her victorious prowess. Meanwhile, on their mini-cruise, Michelle and Sasha pointed out a gaggle of frolicking dolphins from the bow of their boat.

In fact, the First Family's bay cruise was a highlight as was the Barack and Sasha swim, both fine ways to check up -- up close and in person -- on the clean-up from the BP gulf oil spill crisis. Hopefully, by getting away on Saturday and Sunday from Washington, D.C., the Obama family was able to set an example and promote tourism to Florida. By doing so, they likely hold the promise of as much fun in the once tar-ball scarred vicinity to other potential visitors as these high-profile travelers had during their family holiday weekend.

Take a look at happy Obama family photos from their Florida trip below.
