This year, after Thanksgiving turkey and Black Friday shopping, the Montgomery County Humane Society (MCHS) is hosting a cat adoption open house to introduce potential adopters to over 100 cats and kittens who need new homes. Whether you’re looking for a kitten or an adult cat, a tabby, calico or tuxedo cat, MCHS is sure to have a kitty who’ll catch your eye. Meet just a few of them in the accompanying slide show.
All cats adopted during the open house will go home with a new litter box and receive a free microchip. November is also Adopt a Senior Cat Month, and adopters can get special discounts on cats ages 7 years and older.
Cat lovers who can’t adopt at this time are encouraged to participate in the kitty toy drive and towel drive. Drop off some new cat toys or used towels at the shelter to benefit the cats who are still waiting for homes. And while you’re there, you can pick up some treats for yourself at the bake sale.
When & Where: The cat adoption open house takes place this Saturday, November 27, from noon to 5:00 p.m. The shelter is located at 14645 Rothgeb Drive in Rockville. Call 240-773-5960 for more information.
