Wale & UCB, Washington, DC June 3, 2009
DC's own Wale (Wahh-lay) is ready to take his hip hop/go go fusion music to the next level and the industry is taking notice. Gracing the cover of Pollstar and working with today's hottest artists (including Kanye West, Justice, and Lady Gaga) Wale commands attention on stage and is setting the stage for a long career in music.
On Wednesday, June 3rd Wale returns to his hometown of Washington, DC to perform a show in support of Rock the Vote at the 9:30 Club. Although Montgomery County is still Wale's home, he spends a lot of time working in NYC and Los Angeles so take this opportunity to see him perform for hometown fans.
On May 25th Wale played to a full house in Sonar's club room. With the backing of DC go go band UCB his set lasted for over two hours. Performing without a set list he asked the audience to send song requests via twitter and he used his blackberry to check and comply with requests in real time. Don't forget to add him and bring your phone to the show.
Signed to Mark Ronson's Allido Records (Interscope) in 2008, Wale is set to release his 5th mix-tape, "Back to the Feature" before June 13th.
