After a liberal gun answer, Miss New York is crowned Miss America (Video)

Saturday night, Jan. 13, 2013, Miss New York was crowned Miss America in Las Vegas. Mallory Hytes Hagan, 23, is from Brooklyn, N.Y., and she espoused her liberal governor's gun control views in her interview question.

Miss Hagan was asked about the policy of placing an armed guard in every school, a policy that is being demanded around the country by nervous parents of school children. Newsbusters has her answer:

I don’t think the proper way to fight violence is with violence. I think the proper way is to educate people on guns and the ways that we can use them properly. We can lock them up, we can have gun safety classes, we can have a longer waiting period. The answer is not to fight violence with violence, however.

To be clear, the question involved law enforcement officers carrying guns.

It is actually quite amazing how quickly the gun control lobby has managed to take advantage of the Newtown school shooting to push their agenda, whether you agree or not. Now we have come to the point that the Miss America Pageant is not even safe!

E Online gave us these details about the pageant:

The tap dancing 23-year-old from Brooklyn was crowned Saturday evening in Las Vegas, defeating second runner-up Miss South Carolina Ali Rogers and Miss Oklahoma Alicia Clifton. We as a country should take our attitudes on gun control from someone besides a tap dancing 23-year old!
