Afrojack becomes first to premiere an album on Snapchat with 'Forget The World'

With yesterday's release of cover art from his new album "Forget The World," Grammy Award®-winning DJ and producer Afrojack became the first artist to ever utilize Snapchat to preview new music.

Snapchat is the widely popular smartphone application that allows users to send messages that "self-destruct" within 10 seconds. For this innovative campaign, Afrojack is utilizing the Snapchat Stories feature that extends the life of these messages for 24-hours.

Starting today and exclusively on Snapchat, fans will be treated to a 10-second snippet of a new track from the album each day at 12 p.m. EST for the next week. In order to access the clips, fans must simply follow "realAfrojack" on Snapchat.

Afrojack has built a reputation for himself for utilizing new channels to share music. Just last month, he premiered his newest single “Ten Feet Tall” from Island Records by way of a Bud Light commercial during Super Bowl XLVIII. The premiere was accompanied by a free download of the single for up to 500,000 fans by way of the mobile application Shazam.

Snapchat Stories is a relatively new feature on the application that was released last October. Users can now create a narrative of sorts akin to a personal newsfeed. Multiple snaps can be posted within a 24-hour period and each will disappear a day after first appearing. Snapchat currently supports more than 350 million messages daily between users.

“Forget The World” will be officially launched later this month at VIP listening party at the W Hotel South Beach during Winter Music Conference in Miami. World-wide release of the album is scheduled for May 19.
