The New York Times has dubbed the AFRO PUNK festival one of ‘the most multicultural festivals in the United States’ and it all takes place on New York soil, just a train or car ride away for Newark culture lovers. Currently in its 9th year, AFRO PUNK is the perfect way to cap off your summer and this year’s line-up boasts some impressive talent from rapper Danny Brown to the awesome hardcore punk band Trash Talk. Aside from the concerts, AFRO PUNK provides its visitors with a non-conventional and non-conformist atmosphere complete with top NYC food trucks, skate parks, shopping, bike shows and infinite space to mosh.
The AFRO PUNK festival will be taking place at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn and is this weekend, August 24th to the 25th from 12 pm to 9 pm. Admission is free but all visitors are encouraged to submit a suggested donation of $25 to avoid standing in lines. The more you donate, the more perks and swag you get! Be sure to print and bring your confirmation with you.
