Affordable health care act has arrived: Is your HR department ready?

As we all know, the Affordable Health Care Act is here to stay but the larger question of concern on many person’s minds involves those in human resources at their place of employment. Why this is so important it is because what will be taking place as of 2014 when this health care goes into full motion will be changing a lot on the health care matter across the board. Now is the time for all human resource personnel to become aware of what may possibly take place to the insurance policy within the company.

There are three matters human resources personnel must be aware of 1) the mandate, 2) the penalty fee, and 3) the exchange. There are many raising questions about all of the three points as business owners are seeing a severe issue with this universal health care. Not only is it going to force business owners to stop hiring employees it is also going to force business owners to consider lowering the hours from full time status to part time so there can be avoidance of paying for the penalty fee.

Many business owners will not be able to function with daily operations and with this type of health care that is requested so there are many who are now starting to make financial arrangements to ensure they can afford the ability to stay afloat. The sad reality of this matter is no full time jobs will be posted as many small business owners cannot afford to hire full time workers.
