This past Wednesday, Affordable Art Fair hosted its Private View event at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. Over 70 galleries were in attendance including Aperture Contemporary, Blue Tomato, Fraser Gallery, Portland Fine Art, Uprise Art, Rebecca Hossack Gallery, Vogelsang Gallery, and Conrad Augustus Gallery, among many others. Guests enjoyed wine and beer as they browsed the art in the venue. 60 of these galleries showcased artworks on the 1st floor, and the remaining galleries, which showcased emerging art, were on the 2nd floor. The art shown by these galleries consisted of oil paintings, watercolor paintings, carved glass, photographs, mixed media, and sculptures, among a variety of other art mediums.
All of the art was incredible, but highlights included an acrylic painting on panel by Anja Van Herle from the JoAnne Artman Gallery, a mixed media artwork by Stephanie Gautier from the Galerie Virginie Barrou Planquart, and carved glass by Lawrence Morrell from Portland Fine Art. Today was the Affordable Art Fair’s last day at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Hope you all had a chance to view it. What a fantastic and varied showcase of art!
