Affordable art fair comes to London and Milan (Photos)

The Affordable Art Fair celebrates its 14th anniversary March 7-10, 2013 at London Battersea Park where it started October 1999. William Ramsay, founder of the fair told First Direct that he started the Affordable Art Fair “to democratize the sometimes intimidating art world.”

Two thousand pieces including paintings, photographs and sculptures priced $100-$10,000 will be on display at each fair around the world. Winners of the the "Under 35" category will be showcased at the Milan show on the same dates as the London show which will highlight "Emerging Artists."

On March 17, 2013 the Affordable Art Fair will open for the first time in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Convention Center. After venues in New York and Bristol the final show will be in London Hamstead June 13-16. From its humble beginnings as an art wharehouse, the Affordable Art Fair has now sold over $250 million of contemporary art and reaches a million visitors a year on four continents.
