I'm always on the lookout for amazing pieces, and I'm always on the lookout for amazing prices. When I happen to find something amazing and at an unbelievable price, my heart races, I get giddy and start talking really fast. It's like I'm on a first date. So when I came across a stunning elk leather ruffle bag from Stacy Leigh, I immediately blushed and started flirting. Stacy Leigh's designs are a perfect meld of feminine and rugged with a fabulous price tag to match.
Based in a sleepy little town outside of St. Louis, Stacy gets her inspiration from working in her parents gallery and leather itself. "I love working with it's natural, unique edges, and even add them to vintage coats and skirts to give a new rustic and chic look. I like to make one of a kind items and would get very bored if I had to make 100 of exactly the same thing."
Stacy got her start by helping her dad. "My dad had a bag of leather scraps from some cushions he had made for his furniture and one day I started playing around with trying to sew leather on my grandmother's sewing machine. I made a few simple purses and when I showed my parents, they really went on and on about them. So I made more and started selling them in the gallery. I have not stopped and my bags and style have been evolving and refining ever since."
