Oscar winner Ben Affleck has moved on from the beard that captivated his fans. The “Argo” star has shaved his signature “Argo” beard, according to a Feb. 25 E! News report. Affleck reportedly made the decision to let go of the facial hair during an Oscar after-party at West Hollywood’s Craig restaurant.
“He did it to mark the end of a chapter,” a source told E! News. “It had that ceremonial quality to it.” TMZ reports that the actor who considered the beard his “good luck charm,” “shaved it off ... in the hallway right outside the bathroom” at Craig restaurant.
There is no word yet on whether the beard will go on sale on ebay.
The humbled “Argo” director was emotional and very proud of the movie’s best picture win, which was announced via Satellite by First Lady Michelle Obama. Affleck chocked up during his acceptance speech, in which he thanked everyone dear to him, especially his wife.
He also gave good advice to anyone who has ever been “knocked down” in life. “You have to work harder than you think you possibly can. It doesn't matter how you get knocked down in life because that's going to happen. All that matters is you have to get up.”
