Affenpinschers can be found at rescues and shelters nationwide

Did you happen to watch the Westminster Kennel Club show and fall in love with this year’s Best in Show winner “Banana Joe”? He is an Affenpinscher and they are known to be good family pets. They are easily exercised, have an easy to care for coat and can be found at area rescues and shelters across the United States.

According to the AKC website the Affenpinscher’s temperament is “game, alert, and inquisitive with great loyalty and affection towards both master and friends.” They are small in size and are easily exercised. Their coat requires minimal maintenance; a bi weekly brushing and biannual trim will keep your Affenpinscher looking great.

If you are looking to adopt an Affenpinsher please check out the Petfinder.org, Adoptapet.com, and Petango.com sites. On Petfinder alone there are 106 Affenpinschers available for adoption. Many rescue groups are willing to do long distance adoptions. If you fall in love with one in another state just contact the rescue or shelter to find out what their policies are regarding out of state adoptions.
