The 2014 AFC Championship between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos takes place today and will feature a battle between two of the best quarterbacks to ever step on the field, but will it be the last time Denver’s Peyton Manning laces it up on his home field?
According to the Chicago Sun-Times on Jan. 18, Manning may be signed through the 2016 season, but he reportedly will have his neck examined after this season to make a decision if he will return this fall to the Broncos.
Manning has had multiple neck surgeries, causing him to miss the entire 2011 season and basically ended his career in Indianapolis. Manning has said his decision about next year won’t be effected by how this season ends, but after his record breaking season in 2013, you have to think this year is Super Bowl or bust.
Okay enough about next year, right now all that matters for the Broncos and Patriots is today.
The most current up to date odds have the Broncos as a 5 point favorite with the over/under number set at 56.
No matter how many weapons Brady and Manning have, ultimately this game will most likely come down to which QB plays better and what team makes the fewest mistakes.
NFL fans can catch this huge AFC clash on CBS at 3:00 p.m. EST or streaming live on CBS Sports.com. You can also check back here for live scoring updates as they happen.
