Melbourne, FL - August 16, 2014 - It is less than two months away from the start of the 3rd Annual Anglers for Conservation Space Coast Surf Fishing Tournament. The tournament will be held along one of premier surf fishing destinations in America, the beaches of Brevard County. The Brevard County Atlantic Ocean coastline starts just north of Sebastian Inlet State Park and ends approximately 70 miles later in the Canaveral National Seashore. Along these 70 plus miles of sand beaches are numerous county parks that give surf casters access to the Atlantic Ocean.

The tournament starts on October 10th with the Anglers’ meeting at Harry Goode’s Outdoor Shop at 6:00 PM. The fishing starts at sunrise on October 11th and ends at sunset on October 18th. There is no night fishing or fishing from piers and jetties allowed. The tournament wraps up on October 19th with the Award Finale’ at the Grills Riverside Melbourne from 12-4 pm where refreshments and appetizers will be served.

The 3rd Annual Space Coast Surf Fishing Tournament benefits Anglers for Conservation – inspiring new generations of marine stewards through angling education, habitat restoration and applied conservation practices.

This is a catch, measure and photograph event. Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission Saltwater Fishing Regulations apply and can be found at www.myfwc.com. All legal fish may be kept but Anglers for Conservation highly recommends that all species of fish be released back into the ocean to maintain a healthy ocean fishery.
