Multi-Grammy winning rockers Aerosmith will play the Hollywood Bowl on August 6, 2012. The group discussed their upcoming Global Warming tour yesterday at a press conference in Los Angeles. Cheap Trick will be the opening act.
The band is currently working on a new album that they expect to have completed in two to three months.
At yesterday's press conference, the band's guitarist Joe Perry stated, "We're going to actually play some songs off our new record for our fans, along with the old good ones. So we can't wait to bring this thing home."
The band has announced 18 markets it will play on the first leg of the tour. More dates will be added later.
The band cancelled its last slated appearance in Los Angeles in mid-August, 2009, due to injuries suffered by the band's lead singer Steven Tyler at their concert in Sturgis, South Dakota when he fell off the stage. The accident nixed the previously planned show scheduled for Los Angeles at Staples Center. CONTINUE READING BELOW.
Formed in 1970, the band has had a long string of hits, including "Walk This Way," "Rag Doll," "Love In An Elevator," "Janie's Got A Gun," "Dude Looks Like A Lady," "Living On The Edge" and "Back In The Saddle."
